Classic Frozen Margarita

Did you know the frozen margarita machine was invented in Dallas, TX? Happy Hour has never been the same since (but don’t worry, this recipe only requires a blender, not a fancy margarita machine)!

Description

Make your own frozen margarita at home this Cinco De Mayo!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 high-speed blender
  • 4 cups ice
  • 6 oz. tequila (4 shots)
  • 4 oz. triple sec (or 1/2 cup)
  • 6 oz. fresh lime juice (or juice of 6 medium limes)
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar or simple syrup

For margarita glass:

  • Equal parts water and lime juice in a shallow bowl
  • Lime slices to garnish
  • Salt, sugar, or Tajín seasoning on a plate or shallow bowl

Instructions

  1. Dip the rim of an empty margarita glass in water and lime juice mixture
  2. Roll glass rim in seasoning choice and add a slice of lime to garnish
  3. Using a high-speed blender (we recommend the NutriBullet Smart Touch Blender), place ice, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave nectar/simple syrup into blender and blend until smooth. Add water (or more lime juice) if the margarita mixture is too thick. Add more ice if the mixture is too thin.
  4. When consistency is to your liking, pour margarita into garnished glass and enjoy!
